Welcome

Mountain Herbalism is the work of local herbalist Adrian Mintzmyer.  I started Mountain Herbalism as a platform for doing herbal consults, hosting workshops, and teaching others about local medicinal plants. I believe in the healing that can come from building reciprocal relationships with land, and I teach botany, ethical wildcrafting, and bioregional herbalism in collaboration with other local botanists and herbalists as a way to reconnect humans with their local ecosystems.

In my work with clients, I emphasize non-judgemental listening, individualized care, and focusing on the root causes instead of symptoms. I gravitate toward gentle remedies and daily routines. I find that several follow-ups over a few months are ideal for most people hoping to see lasting results in long-term health issues.

Botany for Herbalists

Deepen your connection with the mountains you love.

This year, take the time to really experience the stunning natural beauty of the Rockies.  Have you ever wanted to learn how to positively identify, sustainably harvest, process, and utilize local medicinal and edible plants from our rich and diverse Rocky Mountain bioregion?  If  you want to be part of a botany and herbalism learning community, check out our Field Botany Program!

Community Herbalism Workshop Series

We aim to create a small learning community over the course of our 4 months together, and to share and benefit from each other’s knowledge and experience.  Our Community Herbalism Series will focus on building skills to practically support some of the most common ailments you may see among your friends and family.  Over the course of eight Saturdays, we will cover natural approaches to health and healing including instruction on creating a home apothecary, cost-effective medicine making techniques, and becoming a resource for those around you.

Herbal Consultations

Are you still trying to piece together how all this applies to your own health?  A consultation can help you find the herb or formula best suited to your needs, as well as nutrition or lifestyle insights that inform your daily choices.  Unlike other healing modalities, herbalism requires you to have time and energy available to incorporate herbs, nutritional changes, or better sleep into your everyday life. By offering strategies and experience, we can make the most of your efforts.
